Happy March! Before I get into what I’m up to in March, I’d like to Recap on how February went. I ran 83 miles this past month. In January I ran 85 miles..so I’m two miles short from last month. I am right now schedule with my mile goals for this year. This is all thanks to Fleet Feet’s Half Marathon training program. I ran 4 times each week. These runs were 3 miles during the weekday, and on Saturdays, I would do my long runs with Fleet Feet.
I started off the month with the Krispy Kreme Challenge 5 mile race with my sister. This race was in Raleigh, NC on NCSTATE campus. Hayley and I dressed up in Sparkle Athletic donut skirts to follow the theme of the race. The month followed with my Saturday long runs with Fleet Feet. We ran to Shelley Lake, on the Greenway, and on the NCSTATE Centennial campus. Fleet Feet got a professional photographer to take all of our photos on the run through NCSTATE campus. They are awesome! I purchased new running shoes at Fleet Feet as well. It was time to retire my Brooks Ghost, much to my dismay. I am now running in Brooks Launch and I’m loving the model. They definitely feel springy when I run and less bulky. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Brooks Ghost. The last weekend of February, I went to Tampa, FL for my friends’ wedding and also ran the Gasparilla Half Marathon with Jen and her friend Amanda. Race recap coming soon!
March Sneak Peek:
It is now my one year anniversary of writing in this blog! Hooray! This month, I want to beat 85 miles and go above and beyond. I would love to hit 95 miles but we will see how it goes. I will continue to train with Fleet Feet. This is my last month training with them in preparation for an April race. We have a Mock Half Marathon next weekend. I am very excited to see what my time may be. I feel I’ve improved as a runner. Also I have one race coming up closer to the end of March. It is the Tobacco Road Half Marathon in Cary, NC. Basically though, this month is in preparation for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in April.
